Maria Goes To Number 10

Maria Goes To Number 10

After the excitement of The Pride Of Britain Awards it was time to go and call on the Prime Minister, David Cameron. The Prime Minister had asked to meet all the regional winners at number 10 and after being picked up from The Cumberland Hotel, Maria was standing outside the security gates of Downing Street, preparing to go in and walk up to the famous door.

After clearing security Maria found herself standing outside waiting for the door to open and walk across the threshold where so many world leaders had gone, it was truly amazing.

After a while Suzanna Reid came in fresh from Good Morning Britain to meet and talk to the assembled winners, a lovely lady with time to talk and more importantly listen.

It goes without saying, Number 10 is a truley stunning building and the staircase with all the other Prime Ministers on the wall is a sight to be seen on it's own.

After drinks and light snacks, Mr Cameron entered the room to meet all of the regional winners with Maria waiting for her turn to meet him. He talked to each and every winner in turn and took the time to have a photo or two before leaving, another amazing experiance for Maria to enjoy.

After coming out of Number 10 it was a quick interview with itv and back on to the streets of London, but not before meeting some of the other individual winners from the night before including Mr Steve Dayman who was instrumental in the treatment and the detection, the tumbler test, of Meningitis.

It was back on to the coach to the hotel and prepare for the journey back to Derby.
